MyVest embarked on another ambitious Summer of Giving program. Our program began in 2020 to drive COVID-19 relief  and combat racial injustice. This year the theme was focused on volunteerism. Each MyVestor was encouraged to use their five days of volunteer time off to support the organizations that mean something to them. Here are some of the organizations we served:

  • ShelterTechThis technology-focused nonprofit organization makes it easier for people experiencing homelessness to access reliable internet and provides access to resources to help address their challenges.
  • SF-Marin FoodbankThis food bank addresses hunger head-on – from a food pantry network and home-delivered groceries to food stamp enrollees. Every week, over 50,000 households count on them for food assistance.
  • Excellence in EducationThe program provides stress-free PSAT, SAT test prep to help students achieve academic success. They have helped hundreds of students improve their SAT/PSAT scores and get hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships.
  • Full Circle Farm Therapeutic HorsemanshipTherapeutic riding is a mounted equine-assisted activity used to improve the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals with special needs.
  • Metro CaringAs a frontline anti-hunger organization in Colorado, Metro Caring works with the community to meet people’s immediate need for nutritious food while building a movement to address the root causes of hunger.
  • Berkeley Food NetworkUsing an innovative, community-centered approach to food sourcing and distribution, BFN provides easy and convenient access to healthy, high-quality free food for people who need it.
  • Food Bank of the RockiesPeople in need are served through programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming. It is the largest food bank coverage area in the contiguous United States.
  • buildOnWith a mission to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations through service and education, buildOn mobilizes U.S. students to transform communities by building schools in developing countries.

All of this activity culminated with MyVestors voting on which of the organizations would receive a financial donation from MyVest. The organizations receiving the most votes won the prizes: ShelterTech, San Francisco-Marin Foodbank and Excellence in Education received a lump sum donation from MyVest.

Our goal was to make a positive impact on our communities and the world at large, and to spark a stronger sense of philanthropy and action-oriented outreach among MyVestors. We are so proud of what our team has accomplished and we look forward to continuing the momentum!
